Historic feat: Dinusha joins elite group with twin Test hundreds
Sonal Dinusha has entered an exclusive club of cricketers who have scored centuries in both innings of a single Test match while batting at six or lower in the order. He becomes the fourth Sri Lankan to achieve this milestone, joining the likes of Aravinda de Silva, Kumar Sangakkara, and Dileep Mendis.
The achievement came during the Colombo Test, where Dinusha’s unbeaten 133 in the second innings, played off 264 deliveries, secured a draw for his side. His earlier 103 in the first innings set the platform for the series‑leveling performance.
With a total of 420 runs, three centuries and a fifty across the series, Dinusha’s consistency has placed him among the most reliable middle‑order batsmen in recent Test history. His success has been lauded for its blend of technique, endurance, and tactical acumen.
