India vs Afghanistan: Gurabaz joins elite list of opening ducks

The opening fixture of the India‑Afghanistan T20 series ended with Rahmanullah Gurbaz joining a select group of opening batsmen who have been dismissed for nought on multiple occasions. The Afghan opener fell on the second legal delivery, caught by Abhishek Sharma after Jasprit Bumrah’s probing line. This was Gurbaz’s 11th duck in his T20 International career, moving him to second place behind Paul Stirling’s record 14. The Indian side, captained by Shreyas Iyer, fielded a line‑up that included wicket‑keeper Sanju Samson, all‑rounders Shivam Dube and Ishant Kishan, and the experienced bowler Axar Patel.
