India went into lunch at 92/2, with Gill still at the crease alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was nearing a half-century. The opening partnership between Jaiswal and KL Rahul added 91 runs in Headingley during the first session. However, England managed to end the session on a positive note by taking two wickets in quick succession. India’s debutant, B Sai Sudharsan, was dismissed after scoring a duck.
