Injury Woes Hit Zimbabwe as Key Bowlers Miss Tri‑Series

Zimbabwe’s tri‑series squad has been hit by injury setbacks, with two frontline pacers ruled out. Fast bowler Richard Ngarava is recovering from a lower‑back strain, while Tanaka Chivanga underwent surgery for an Achilles tendon issue and will miss the competition.

Both Ngarava, who also captains Zimbabwe in ODIs and Tests, and Chivanga were expected to lead the pace attack. Their absences force the team to rely on emerging bowlers and the experience of spinner Greym Cremona, who has just returned from injury.

The series, featuring South Africa and Namibia, will be played in a double‑round robin format starting August 28 in Windhoek, with the top two teams contesting the final on September 6.
