The new schedule of IPL can be decided in the next 48 hours with suggestions from the central government.
These cities may have remaining matches
In IPL 2025, the first 9 cities were to be held in 9 cities, but due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, the BCCI is now considering holding matches in limited places. Cities like Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad are being given priority, as they are away from the border of Pakistan. A new schedule may be released soon.
How many matches are left and when can it happen?
Out of a total of 74 matches in IPL 2025, there have been 58 matches so far. There are 16 matches left, including 12 league stage and 4 playoffs. The BCCI plans to complete the league in May itself. Therefore, the number of double header (two matches a day) can be increased. The board has also issued orders to all teams to report on their venue.
Foreign players are being called back
After the suspension, foreign players and support staff returned to their respective countries. The BCCI is now preparing to call them back. At present, there will be no problem in the return of the players due to no major international series.
Which teams are left, who was out of the playoffs?
In the IPL, Mumbai, Kolkata, Rajasthan, Chennai have to play 2-2 league matches for the league stage. There are 3-3 matches left from the remaining teams. Hyderabad, Rajasthan, Chennai are out of the playoff race, while the remaining 7 teams are still in the competition for the playoffs.
