IPL 2027 Auction Date Confirmed for 16 December, BCCI Message Reveals
According to insiders, the BCCI has communicated to all IPL franchise delegates that the 2027 mini‑auction will happen on 16 December in Goa. The notice, circulated via WhatsApp, also asked each team to confirm the number of officials traveling so that accommodation at the ITC Grand can be arranged promptly.
The same day will see an international one‑day match between India and Sri Lanka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The first ODI of the bilateral series was slated for 13 December at New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, but ongoing drainage and pitch improvements mean a new venue must be identified.
With the auction coinciding with the ODI, Goa steps into the spotlight as the IPL’s first auction host. All ten franchises – Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Sunrisers Hyderabad – will be able to address roster deficiencies after the November retention window closes.
