The challenging conditions, characterized by a green pitch and overcast skies, made Nair’s effort all the more commendable. His innings marked his first fifty-plus score since his historic 303 against England in Chennai in 2016. Karthik observed that Nair’s performance has revived his international career, stating that the team management might have looked beyond him if he hadn’t played this Test.
