Kent's promotion hopes dented as key bowler returns to BCB

Kent County's aspirations for promotion in the County Championship have taken a hit after fast‑bowler Hasan Mahmud was recalled by the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Mahmud, who has been in superb form, claimed seven wickets in each of his last two outings and a total of 26 wickets in four matches, lifting Kent to third in Division Two. The BCB, preparing for a packed winter itinerary that includes series against Afghanistan, West Indies and South Africa, deemed his presence essential. Kent's director Simon Cook acknowledged the disappointment but praised the positive dialogue with BCB and confirmed that overseas teammates Keith Dudgeon and Khalid Ahmed will remain available for the remaining fixtures.
