Bharat Arun, former bowling coach of the Indian national team, has been appointed as the bowling coach for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He joins LSG after a four-year tenure with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Arun has agreed to a two-year deal with the franchise, owned by Sanjiv Goenka. This arrangement extends beyond the IPL season, including off-season player development initiatives.
Arun’s technical skills were instrumental in building KKR’s strong bowling attack. His departure from KKR was amicable, facilitated by the presence of Dwayne Bravo as a mentor and KKR’s policies for employee professional growth. This move potentially signals the end of Zaheer Khan’s role with LSG, as the team focuses on a long-term strategy with year-round support for its bowlers.
