The former Australian skipper is embracing life as a full-time freelance player, focusing entirely on global franchise cricket and development opportunities. Once a cornerstone of Victoria's setup, Lanning's appearances became increasingly sporadic, culminating in just four Women's National Cricket League matches last season before she stepped away from the Women's Big Bash League. She currently captains UP Warriorz in the Women's Premier League and leads Manchester Originals in The Hundred, while also representing Lancashire in the T20 Blast.
