Lionel Messi may soon trade his soccer cleats for cricket spikes, potentially participating in a seven-a-side exhibition match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on December 14. This exciting crossover could see the Argentine football icon sharing the field with Indian cricket legends like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. There’s also a possibility of Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma joining the star-studded lineup. Messi’s India visit, scheduled from December 13 to 15, also includes stops in New Delhi and Kolkata. This marks his second visit to the country, the first being in 2011. The event is being organized by a leading event management agency. While plans for a football friendly in Kerala were discussed, they appear to be on hold. Messi, currently playing for Inter Miami, is also aiming for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
