Liverpool is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a £45 million deal to acquire Milos Kerkez, signaling an active summer transfer period for the club. This potential move follows the recent signing of Jeremie Frimpong, a defender expected to strengthen Liverpool’s defense following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure to Real Madrid. Simultaneously, Liverpool is also pursuing Florian Writz, who played alongside Frimpong at Bayer Leverkusen. This move aims to add competition for Andy Robertson on the left side, as Robertson’s recent performance has dipped. Kostas Tsimikas currently fills the backup role. Kerkez, a 20-year-old Hungarian left-back, is keen on joining Liverpool, and Bournemouth’s acquisition of Adrien Truffert suggests the deal is nearing completion. Kerkez’s current jersey number, No. 3, is unavailable at Liverpool, as it is worn by Wataru Endo. If Endo departs or chooses a different number, Kerkez could potentially claim the No. 3 shirt. Kerkez had a productive 2024-25 season with Bournemouth, appearing in 41 games across all competitions. In the Premier League, he played 38 matches, scoring two goals and providing six assists, accumulating 3,342 minutes. He also played in three FA Cup games, providing two assists.
