Money Grewal delivered an outstanding performance at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, highlighted by a stunning five-wicket haul, including a hattrick. His exceptional bowling display dismantled the East Delhi Riders, securing a decisive 62-run victory for the Central Delhi Kings.
Chasing a target of 156, East Delhi Riders faced an early setback with Sujal Singh’s dismissal in the second over. Grewal then took charge in the third over, showcasing his fast-bowling prowess. He claimed his first wicket by removing Hardik Sharma, followed by a yorker that bowled out Shivam Tripathi. Grewal then dismissed East Delhi Riders captain Anuj Rawat, who was caught off guard by the fast pace of the ball.
Grewal continued his dominant performance, dismissing Arpit Rana and Mayank Rawat, finishing with remarkable figures of 5/23 in 4 overs. Aryavir Sehwag, son of Virender Sehwag, made his DPL debut, scoring a promising 22 off 16 balls. Yugal Saini contributed a half-century, and Jasvir Sehrawat anchored the innings with an unbeaten 37 off 35 balls.
Both East Delhi Riders and Central Delhi Kings had already qualified for the playoffs. However, this comprehensive victory has propelled Central Delhi Kings to the top of the points table with 15 points.
