Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra showcased his prowess at the Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 in Bengaluru, securing the title with a remarkable throw of 86.18 meters. This impressive feat occurred during his third attempt at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. Julius Yego from Kenya took second place, while Rumesh Pathirage of Sri Lanka finished third. Chopra’s performance included a shaky start with a foul, followed by a strong 82.99-meter throw in the second round. His third-round throw of 86.18 meters solidified his lead. Despite a fourth-round foul, a fifth-round throw of 84.07 meters ensured his victory. The event, which was co-organized by JSW Sports and Neeraj Chopra, drew a large crowd, featuring international athletes and top Indian javelin throwers. The competition, awarded ‘Gold Status’ by World Athletics, saw participation from athletes like Curtis Thompson (USA), Martin Konecny (Czechia), and Thomas Roehler (Germany).
