Neeraj Chopra, the reigning world champion, has qualified for the final of the 2025 World Athletics Championships. Chopra showcased his dominance in the men’s javelin throw event, securing his place in the final with a single impressive throw. He won the gold medal in the 2023 event, becoming the first Indian athlete to achieve this feat at the World Championships. The qualification round took place on September 17th in Tokyo, Japan. Chopra’s outstanding performance in Group A, where he competed alongside Sachin Yadav, highlighted his readiness for the final. His first throw of 84.85 meters was enough to surpass the qualifying mark of 84.50 meters, solidifying his position in the championship round. Following his successful first throw, Chopra chose to conserve his energy and fitness for the final, opting not to take any further throws.
