Pakistan cricketer Haider Ali has been suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following his arrest by Greater Manchester Police due to a rape allegation. The 24-year-old batter, who was touring England with Pakistan Shaheens, was taken into custody after an incident at a property in Manchester on July 23, 2025. A formal complaint of sexual assault led to the arrest. While authorities have not disclosed the identity of the complainant, the PCB acknowledged Haider’s involvement and announced an immediate suspension. The Greater Manchester Police stated that the alleged incident occurred on July 23, 2025, and the 24-year-old man was bailed pending further inquiries. The PCB confirmed a criminal investigation is underway and placed Haider under provisional suspension from all forms of cricket. The board stated it is providing legal support to protect Haider’s rights and fully respects the legal processes of the United Kingdom, allowing the investigation to run its course. The PCB decided to place Haider Ali under provisional suspension, effective immediately, pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
