    Piyush Chawla Retirement Announced: Another Indian veteran bowler has also announced his retirement after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Indian leg -spinner Piyush Rice has announced his retirement from all three cricket formats today, sharing an emotional post on Instagram Post. He was part of the Indian team in the 2007 T20 World Cup and ODI Cup 2011. He wrote on the Instagram post that “After spending two decades on the field, the time has come to say goodbye to this beautiful game.”

    While sharing the post on Instagram, Piyush Chawla wrote that after being on the field for more than two decades, now the time has come to say goodbye to this beautiful game. It has been a privilege for India to play for India and to be a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup winning team. These memories will always be in my heart. I heartily thank all the IPL franchisees who expressed confidence in me- Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Indian Premier League has been a special chapter of my career and I have appreciated every moment while playing in it. I am my coaches- K.K. I specially thank Gautam and the late Pankaj Saraswat, who played an important role in improving and grooming me as cricketers.

    Piyush Chawla further wrote that my family, which was always the strongest pillar of my strength. Your unwavering, my foundation remained in the ups and downs of my career. Especially my late father, whose faith showed me this path. Without them, this journey could never be possible. I also thank BCCI, UPCA (Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association) and GCA (Gujarat Cricket Association), who gave me a platform and opportunities to enhance myself as cricketers.

    It was written on Instagram that today is a very emotional day for me as I officially announce retirement from all formats of international and domestic cricket. Although I will not step on the pitch anymore, but cricket will always be alive within me. I am excited to move towards a new journey, I will take the soul and learning of this beautiful game.

    How was Piyush Chawla’s career?

    Cricketer Piyush Chawla was part of the Indian Under -19 team and Uttar Pradesh Under 22 at the age of 15. He stepped into first class cricket at the age of 17. In his first first-class season, he took 35 wickets and scored 224 runs, which helped Uttar Pradesh win his first Ranji Trophy. Piyush Chawla has played 3 Tests, 25 ODIs and 7 T20 matches for India. 7 wickets have been taken in Tests, 32 in ODI International and 4 wickets in T20 International.

    He has played the most IPL matches, in which he has spread his fire. In the IPL, Piyush Chawla has played 192 matches so far, with 3850 balls to give 5108 runs and took 192 wickets. His bowling average in the IPL was 26.6, economy 7.96 and strike rate was 20.05. His best performance has been 4/17. In any format, he has not taken 5 wickets or 10 wickets so far.
