Rajat Patidar, one of the rising stars of Indian cricket, has been given a significant responsibility. He has performed brilliantly as a captain in recent times. Patidar, who played a key role in helping Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) win their first IPL trophy after 18 years, recently led the Central Zone team to victory in the Duleep Trophy 2025 final. Now, he is set to captain the Madhya Pradesh Ranji team.

The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has announced Rajat Patidar as the captain of their team for the Ranji Trophy 2025-26. He will replace Shubham Sharma in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season. Madhya Pradesh won their first Ranji title in 2022, and the team aims to replicate that success under Patidar’s captaincy. He is currently captaining the Rest of India in the Irani Cup, where they are playing against Ranji champions Vidarbha.
The 15-member Madhya Pradesh team includes players like Yash Dubey, Harsh Gawli, and Shubham Sharma to strengthen the batting. In the bowling department, Kuldeep Sen and Aryan Pandey, along with spinners Kumar Kartikeya and Saransh Jain, will provide balance to the team. Additionally, Himanshu Mantri, Harpreet Singh, Venkatesh Iyer, Sagar Solanki, Adheer Pratap, Arshad Khan, and Anubhav Agrawal are also included in the team. The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 will be played in two phases. The first phase will be from October 15 to November 19, while the second phase will be from January 22 to February 1. The knockout stage will be held from February 6 to February 28.
