Ravichandran Ashwin reportedly desires to depart from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the upcoming IPL season. According to reports, the player has requested the team management to release him. If granted, Ashwin will enter the IPL 2026 auction. The reasons behind the off-spinner’s decision to move on from the team are currently unknown. After rejoining CSK in the IPL 2025 auction, he was acquired for a substantial sum of 9.75 crore rupees. However, his performance did not meet expectations. In the IPL 2025 season, Ashwin played in only nine matches, where he took only 7 wickets and had an economy rate of 9.13. He conceded 283 runs in 186 balls. With the bat, Ashwin scored a mere 33 runs in nine innings, hitting only three fours and one six throughout the season. The situation has prompted speculation and questions about his future in the team, despite his successful track record in the IPL.
