Kiran Rijiju applauds Mira Bai Chanu’s historic Commonwealth triple gold

On X, Minister Rijiju posted a short video of the meeting and wrote, “Welcome home, Mira Bai Chanu, after a stellar Commonwealth Games finish. You have uplifted India once again with a gold in weightlifting. Thank you for the jersey signed by all the athletes.”

In the clip, Rijiju told Chanu, “I was a little disappointed after Paris, but you have made my heart happy this time – I was convinced gold was inevitable.” Chanu’s three‑peat makes her the first weightlifter worldwide to win three successive Commonwealth golds.
