Cricketer Rinku Singh has shared a harrowing account of a childhood incident where he was severely attacked by a monkey. Speaking on the Raj Shamani podcast, Singh described the frequent threat posed by monkeys to him and his brothers during their upbringing. The attack was life-threatening, leaving Singh to deal with considerable physical pain and emotional trauma.
The incident occurred during the rainy season when Singh, his brother, and a friend were walking, carrying an umbrella. Suddenly, a monkey attacked from behind, pinning him to the ground and inflicting multiple bites. The attack was brutal, tearing his flesh and causing significant injury. Singh’s brother attempted to fend off the monkey with stones, but the animal persisted.
Singh vividly recalled the gruesome details, including the profuse bleeding and the exposure of his bones. After the attack, he was rushed to a clinic, where his family anxiously waited. The dressing of his wounds was a critical moment, as the severity of the injuries raised concerns about his survival. A local person was called upon to provide medical assistance. Following the dressing, Singh’s condition stabilized.
