Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim believes the Mumbai Indians hold a favorable position heading into Qualifier 2 against the Punjab Kings. He highlighted MI’s strong momentum, considering their performance and formidable bowling attack. Karim also expressed hope for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win the IPL, particularly for their fans, acknowledging the stellar performance of Virat Kohli. Kohli has been in excellent form, scoring consistently and contributing significantly to the team.

Karim’s comments were made during the Fit India ‘Sundays on Cycle’ initiative in Delhi. He further discussed India’s upcoming tour of England, seeing it as a valuable opportunity for a young Indian side to showcase their talents under the new leadership of Shubman Gill. Karim praised the depth of talent in Indian cricket and the opportunities being given to young players. The tour begins on June 20 with the first Test at Leeds and is the start of India’s new ICC World Test Championship cycle.

Additionally, Karim lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gesture of meeting young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, recognizing the youngster’s exceptional talent and the positive impact of support from the BCCI and the Prime Minister. Suryavanshi’s breakout IPL season with Rajasthan Royals was impressive, marked by a remarkable century and high strike rate, showcasing his potential.
