Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim believes the Mumbai Indians (MI) are in a favorable position to win the Qualifier 2 match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), citing their current momentum and strong bowling attack. He also expressed support for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans, hoping their team secures their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title. Karim made these comments at the Fit India ‘Sundays on Cycle’ initiative in Delhi. Reflecting on the MI-PBKS clash, Karim highlighted MI’s dominance, contrasting it with PBKS’s recent loss to RCB. He also commented on Virat Kohli’s performance, hoping for a successful season for RCB in their star player’s 18th season. Furthermore, Karim discussed India’s upcoming tour of England, emphasizing the opportunity for a young squad under the leadership of Shubman Gill. He praised the bench strength and the chance for youngsters to perform well. The tour begins in June with five Tests, marking the start of a new World Test Championship cycle. Additionally, Karim lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gesture of meeting young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, recognizing his talent and the growing reach of the game. Suryavanshi’s impressive IPL performance, including a record-breaking century, was also acknowledged.
