Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim discussed the upcoming Qualifier 2 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), favoring MI due to their strong momentum and bowling attack. He also expressed hope for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans, wishing for their team’s first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) victory. Karim’s comments were made during the Fit India ‘Sundays on Cycle’ initiative in Delhi.
Analyzing the MI-PBKS clash, Karim believes MI’s current form makes them the likely victors. He highlighted their strong bowling and overall dominance. In contrast, PBKS, despite leading the league stage, suffered a significant loss against RCB, while MI showcased a strong batting performance against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the eliminator.
Regarding RCB, Karim acknowledged Virat Kohli’s exceptional performance this season and hoped for RCB’s success in the IPL. He also commented on India’s upcoming tour of England, emphasizing the opportunity for a young side under new captain Shubman Gill to excel, highlighting the depth of talent and the significance of this tour.
Karim also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gesture of meeting young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, acknowledging Suryavanshi’s talent and the widespread growth of the game. Suryavanshi’s outstanding performance for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL was noted, including his record-breaking century.
