Satwik-Chirag Pair Granted Fifth Seed in Mixed Doubles

The Indian mixed doubles pair Satwik and Chirag, who clinched the gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games, have been awarded the fifth seed for the BWF World Championship 2026. Their seeding reflects their world ranking as of April 28, 2026, and underscores India's growing strength in the mixed doubles discipline.

India's overall entry list includes two players in each of the five categories, with at least one seeded entry in four categories. In addition to the Satwik‑Chirag pair, the mixed doubles team of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Krasto holds the 15th seed, while the men's singles and women's singles have seeded Indian players PV Sindhu (9th) and Lakshya Sen (14th).

The official draw will be released on Wednesday. Should any seeded player withdraw before the championship begins, the seedings will be revised accordingly.
