In a blow to Bangladesh's batting lineup, opener Shadman Islam has been sidelined for the second Test against Pakistan due to a chest injury from the first match in Mirpur. The BCB announced left-handed batsman Zakir Hasan's inclusion as his replacement on Thursday. The injury occurred while Shadman was fielding, and BCB spokesperson Bayzedul confirmed its severity: 'He's in pain and unavailable for the upcoming game.' Bangladesh enters the second Test on a high after a historic 104-run win in Mirpur—their third straight Test victory over Pakistan and first at home against them. The team defended 268 successfully, dismissing Pakistan for 163, thanks to Nahid Rana's 5-wicket spell in the second innings. Captain Shanto's twin knocks of 101 and 87 fetched him the Player of the Match award. Full scorecard: Bangladesh 413 (1st inns), Pakistan 386; Bangladesh 240/9 dec (2nd inns), Pakistan 163 all out. With the series at 1-0, all eyes are on Sylhet for the May 16 start. Zakir Hasan, a promising opener, steps up to partner the top order and sustain Bangladesh's impressive form against a formidable Pakistan side.
