An injury to Shubman Gill has caused concern for Team India ahead of their match against Pakistan. Gill, who has been named the vice-captain for the Asia Cup 2025, sustained the injury during a training session. The injury occurred to his hand, and he was seen in pain. Gill was in good form in the first match of the tournament against the UAE. His injury before the Pakistan match is not a welcome development.
The injury caused a stir during the net practice. The team’s physio rushed to attend to him, monitoring his injury. Gill left the nets after the injury. He was seen sitting on an ice box, holding his injured hand. Captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir were seen inquiring about his condition, while Abhishek Sharma offered him a bottle of water.
However, Gill’s injury was not serious. He returned to practice in the nets after a few minutes. The team physio kept a close watch on him throughout the practice session. Overall, there’s no major reason for concern from Team India’s perspective.
Team India had an intense net session before the match against Pakistan. The Indian batsmen practiced rigorously. During the practice, Shubman Gill faced Jasprit Bumrah’s balls and played his shots with ease.
The India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to be played in Dubai. This will be the second match of the tournament for both teams. India had previously defeated the UAE, while the Pakistan cricket team had defeated Oman.
