Glasgow – Jadumani Singh’s silver medal finish in the women’s 55 kg category at the 2026 Commonwealth Games underscores her emergence as one of India’s brightest boxing prospects. In the final held on August 1 at SEC Hall‑5, Singh was bested by Australia’s Jai Dixon, who accumulated a clean 0‑5 score across three rounds.

Singh’s opening round proved competitive, with a 3‑2 advantage that awarded her ten points from three referees. Dixon’s response in round two was decisive, capturing unanimous ten‑point scores from the full panel of judges and taking a 20‑18 lead. The third round mirrored Dixon’s dominance, granting him ten points from each judge and sealing the gold.

The Indian champion’s tournament journey was marked by decisive victories: a 5‑0 win over Scotland’s Erin Calnan in the round of 32, a 5‑0 triumph against Pakistan’s Sumama Rehman, a quarter‑final shutout of Zambia’s Mwengo Mvalle, and a one‑sided semi‑final victory over Namibia’s Philip Pumulo Huoseb.
