In the Maharaja Trophy 2025 tournament, Gulbarga Mystics defeated Hubli Tigers by 4 wickets. The match saw Gulbarga initially struggling, losing three wickets for just 15 runs while chasing the target. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s young player, Smaran Ravichandran, played a powerful innings, scoring a half-century and playing a crucial role in Mystics’ win. He dominated Hubli’s bowlers throughout his innings.
In the match, Hubli Tigers batted first, scoring 158 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Krishnan Sreejith top-scored with 52 runs, including four boundaries and two sixes. Shivkumar Rakshit scored 36 runs, and Mohammad Taha added 17 runs. For Mystics, Shashi Kumar and Lavish Kaushal each took two wickets. Gulbarga Mystics’ chase began poorly, losing three wickets within the first three overs.
Smaran Ravichandran then stepped up, smashing a quickfire 52 runs off 39 balls, including one boundary and three sixes, leading his team to victory. He formed a 71-run partnership with Prajwal Pawan for the fourth wicket. Ravichandran has shown remarkable form this season, averaging 42.33 with 127 runs in 5 matches, with a strike rate of 141.11. He has hit 10 fours and 7 sixes this season. He currently ranks sixth among the leading run-scorers in the tournament. Sunrisers Hyderabad also shared a special tweet on their official social media account regarding Smaran Ravichandran’s performance against Hubli Tigers.
This victory marks Gulbarga Mystics’ third win of the season. They have won three out of five matches and currently hold the fourth position in the points table.
