Spectacular Closing Show Highlights India’s Cultural Showcase for 2030 Games

The closing ceremony of the 2026 Commonwealth Games turned into a grand stage for India's cultural diplomacy. Over 2,500 spectators enjoyed a seamless blend of Indian and Scottish artistry, from the rendition of "Vande Mataram" on its 150th anniversary to a specially produced short film tracing India's rise on the global sports map. A unique musical crossover between Rishabh Sharma and Scottish crooner Ross Ansley symbolised the smooth transition from Glasgow to Ahmedabad. The ceremony culminated in a fiery performance by Shankar Mahadevan, Rishabh Sharma, and Bhumika Trivedi, prompting the audience to rise, clap, and dance. The hand‑over also featured Commonwealth boxing champion Jasmine Lambordia raising the Indian tricolour, underscoring the pride felt by athletes from all 74 Commonwealth nations.
