Spectra Center to Stage Women's Tennis Tour Finals Starting 2027

The Women’s Tennis Association announced that the Spectra Center in Charlotte will host the WTA Finals for three consecutive seasons, beginning in 2027 and ending in 2029. The venue, which also hosts NBA games for the Charlotte Hornets, will become the focal point for the tour’s most prestigious championship.

Top‑ranked singles competitors and elite doubles pairings will battle for the Billie Jean King Trophy and the Martina Navratilova Trophy, respectively. Qualification will be determined by the PIF Race to the WTA Finals, where players accumulate points throughout the calendar year.

The WTA emphasized that a long‑term commitment with Charlotte will enhance the event’s global profile and position the finals as a cornerstone of the international women’s sport calendar. The Charlotte Sports Foundation served as the main local collaborator, working with government bodies and the regional business sector to ensure a seamless transition.
