Sudharsan Hits 3rd IPL Ton, Gill Help GT Break RCB Partnership Record

Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium witnessed a masterclass in T20 batting as Gujarat Titans' Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill scripted history against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026's 34th fixture. The opening pair's 128-run alliance in 12.4 overs eclipsed GT's highest partnership against RCB, setting a new benchmark. Sudharsan dominated proceedings, unleashing a ferocious 100-run knock in 58 balls. With a strike rate touching 172, he peppered the boundary with 11 fours and 5 massive sixes, marking his third IPL ton. Gill supported brilliantly, scoring 32 off 24 deliveries with elegant strokeplay, featuring a couple of boundaries and a towering six. This was the fifth time the duo has crossed the 100-run mark for the first wicket in IPL, second only to Warner-Dhawan. Sudharsan also joined an elite club, reaching 2000 IPL runs quicker than anyone, in just 47 innings, surpassing Gayle's 48-innings feat. Gujarat Titans bolstered their XI with Jason Holder's inclusion—his first of the season—and Manav Suthar's return. This record-breaking stand not only boosted GT's morale but also intensified the battle for playoff spots, with RCB under pressure early on.
