Preparations for the 2025 Asia Cup are underway, with Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates gearing up for a T20 tri-series. The Emirates Cricket Board will host the tournament in Sharjah, scheduled to take place in late August and early September. This series will serve as a crucial warm-up for the Asia Cup 2025. Initially, a three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Afghanistan was planned, as per the ICC’s Future Tours Programme, but this has been replaced by the tri-nation tournament. Each team will compete against the others twice in a round-robin format, culminating in a final between the top two teams. Matches will commence at 7:00 PM local time. In the T20I standings, Pakistan holds the 8th position, followed by Afghanistan at 9th and UAE at 14th. The Asia Cup 2025, featuring eight teams, will be played in the T20 format from September 9 to 28.
