Telangana aims for 2036 Olympics with Korean collaboration

In a bid to strengthen its bid for hosting the 2036 Olympic Games, Telangana’s Young India Physical Education and Sports University signed a strategic MoU with Korea National Sports University. Chief Minister A. Revanta Reddy announced the partnership on X, noting that the agreement will bring world‑class training methodologies to the state’s athletes.

The MoU outlines joint development of high‑performance curricula, shared use of cutting‑edge sports science labs, and coordinated efforts to identify and groom talent from grassroots to elite levels. With South Korea’s proven success at recent Olympic competitions, Telangana hopes to replicate similar outcomes for Indian athletes.

Reddy affirmed that the collaboration reflects the state’s commitment to a culture of excellence, bridging the gap between local talent and global standards as India looks ahead to the 2036 Olympics.
