South Africa’s captain, Temba Bavuma, has addressed the controversy surrounding Kagiso Rabada’s recent drug ban, as the team prepares to face Australia in the crucial WTC final at Lord’s. Bavuma revealed that Rabada spoke to the team and answered their questions. He expressed confidence that the team has moved past the episode and is now fully focused on winning the final. Bavuma also noted that Rabada seems highly motivated and in excellent shape for the match against Australia. The ban resulted from a positive test for benzoylecgonine, a cocaine metabolite, identified by the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS), which follows World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) guidelines.
