Brentford’s manager, Thomas Frank, is set to become the new head coach of Tottenham, succeeding Ange Postecoglou. This decision comes after Postecoglou’s recent dismissal, merely sixteen days after leading the team to victory in the Europa League. Despite the European success, Tottenham’s management, led by Levy, observed the team’s struggles in the league, ultimately leading to Postecoglou’s removal. In the preceding season, Tottenham narrowly avoided relegation, finishing in 17th place after losing 22 out of 38 matches. The club’s statement acknowledged Postecoglou’s achievements, including his status as one of only three managers to secure a European trophy for Tottenham. However, the board determined that a change was necessary to improve the club’s overall performance. The statement further noted the team’s decline in league performance, citing injuries and the prioritization of the Europa League campaign as contributing factors. While acknowledging the Europa League victory as a significant accomplishment, the club emphasized the need to compete effectively on multiple fronts and believes that a shift in strategy will be beneficial for the upcoming season and beyond. Thomas Frank has been involved in 317 games for Brentford FC since October 2018 and is expected to leave by June 30, winning 136, drawing 71, and losing 110.
