Vikas Katyal Takes Charge as Team India Manager for Upcoming West Indies Fixtures

Delhi’s cricket governing body has placed its director, Vikas Katyal, in charge of managing the Indian national team for the West Indies tour slated for late September and early October. The itinerary comprises three ODIs—27 September, 30 September and 3 October—and a subsequent five‑match T20I series on 6, 9, 11, 14 and 17 October. Shubman Gill will captain the one‑day side, with senior stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the lineup. Shreyas Iyer will wield the T20 captaincy, supported by a mix of seasoned campaigners and rising stars such as Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. DDCA’s communiqué highlighted the appointment as a testament to Katyal’s expertise and extended best wishes for a successful series, noting India’s favourable historical record of 72 wins in 142 ODIs against West Indies.
