A surprising incident unfolded involving Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar, with star cricketers Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers inadvertently contacting a fan due to a deactivated phone number. This phone number, previously belonging to Patidar, was reassigned after being inactive for over 90 days. The new user, a resident of Gariaband district in Chhattisgarh named Manish, activated the number and discovered Rajat Patidar’s profile picture on WhatsApp. Following this, Manish received calls from Kohli and de Villiers. The situation escalated when Patidar himself contacted Manish to reclaim the number, which was crucial for communication with coaches, teammates, and close associates. After initially doubting the situation, the matter was brought to the attention of the police, leading to the return of the SIM card to Patidar. Manish’s friend, Khemraj, expressed his excitement, stating that the accidental contact allowed him to speak with Kohli, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
