WCPL 2026 sees sixth Indian player Sushma Verma in Trinbago line‑up

In the latest WCPL roster update, the Trinbago Knight Riders have signed Indian wicket‑keeper batter Sushma Verma for the knockout phase, filling the spot left by Yastika Bhatia. Bhatia departed to lead India A in a three‑match ODI series and a subsequent four‑day encounter against Australia A. Verma praised the Knight Riders organization, stating that the contract reflects the payoff of her intensive T20 preparation. This signing marks the sixth Indian presence in the 2026 WCPL, alongside teammate Shikha Pandey. Other Indian talents – Kiran Navgire, Pooja Vastrakar and Harleen Deol – are representing the Barbados Tridents. At 33, Verma’s international résumé includes 1 Test, 43 ODIs and 19 T20s, with her most recent call‑up for the 2023 South Africa tri‑series that did not result in on‑field action.
