Young Indian Marksmen Display Resilience and Technique in Nagoya

Nagoya’s shooting ranges have become the proving ground for a new generation of Indian athletes. In the men’s 10‑metre air‑rifle team event the Indian squad earned a silver medal, while individual shooter Himanshu Dhillon took another silver and Rudraksh Patel captured bronze. The women’s side mirrored the success with a team silver and an individual silver for Ilavenil Valarivan.

The young marksmen credit a blend of disciplined training and mental conditioning for their performance. “We focus on breathing, visualization and handling the pressure of finals,” said Dhillon after his medal ceremony.

NRAI President Kalikesh Singh praised the shooters’ commitment, stating that their mental strength allows them to overcome the most challenging conditions. He added that the athletes’ performance reflects the effectiveness of a comprehensive program that combines technology, sport science and continuous monitoring.

With five medals already secured, the Indian contingent is poised to build on its momentum, aiming for a stronger presence on the Asian Games podium as the competition advances.
