Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed a 15‑player women’s squad for the upcoming Asian Games, presenting a mixture of veteran presence and youthful energy. The side is captained by opening‑order star Chamari Athapaththu, who returns to lead after the team’s runner‑up finish at the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup.

While the Asia Cup final loss to India highlighted a gap of 72 runs, the selectors opted to retain a core group and inject new blood. Notably, consistent performers such as Vishwa Goonatunge and Nilakshi Silva were not selected, making way for emerging players.

Chamudi Praboda, who impressed with both bat and ball during the Asia Cup, secured a place. Rashmika Sevandi, a 19‑year‑old who featured in her last WT20I against Pakistan, also joins the ranks.

The roster includes seasoned campaigners Imesha Dulani, Harshita Samaravikrama, Kavisha Dilhari, Hasini Perera, Sugandhika Kumari and wicket‑keeper Anushka Sanjeevani.
