Ms. Ishwari Nishad, a visually impaired runner from Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh, won a silver medal for India in the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2022 World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2022 held in Dubai under the 13th Faiza International Athletic Championship on Wednesday. Ms. Ishwari secured second position by completing 400 meters race in one minute 25 seconds. With this Ms. Ishwari has managed to achieve the minimum standard qualification for the Asian Para Games to be held in Hangzhou, China in October this year. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Social Welfare Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia have congratulated and congratulated Ms. Ishwari for bringing light to the name of Chhattisgarh at the world level. Ms. Ishwari was felicitated at the national level for receiving gold medal in paraathletics. Along with this, he had announced to bear the expenses of going to Dubai for the play of Kumari Ishwari Nishad. Ms. Ishwari Nishad is studying in Fortune Foundation Blind Special School, Bagbahra, District Mahasamund. She has made the country proud by winning the gold medal in 200m race in India National Open Para Athletic Championship till 3rd held at Bangalore Sai Training Center in the year 2021-22. Ms. Ishwari will leave for Odisha from New Delhi on the 27th of this month after returning from Dubai. She will participate in the 20th National Para Athletics Championship to be held in Bhubaneswar. Ms. Ishwari originally hails from Samhar village in Bagbahra tehsil of Mahasamund district. His parents earn their living by working as laborers.
