Purushottam character, Gariaband. Action has been taken against two accused in the case of death of 19 cows in Kopra Gaushala. The police have registered a case against Shiv Baba Kopeshwar Nath Sanstha president Manoj Sahu and convenor Haldhar Nath Goswami under Animal Cruelty to Act and BNS.
Please tell that dead cows were being thrown one by one on the banks of the Parry river. After the stench spread, the complaint reached the administration. Rajim SDM Vishal Maharana arrived to investigate with the team. The team found that the 150 cows present are also hungry due to lack of fodder. The officers have reprimanded the director Manoj Sahu, as well as the notice to the vet responsible for inspection of the cowshed.
The preliminary investigation found that the shepherd and caretaker have not been paid salary for two months, due to which the cow dynasty was not taken care of. The VHP also alleged that the cows died due to lack of fodder to them. After the incident, the Gariaband Collector ordered the CMO, the head of the institution and the local veterinary officer to issue notice.
In the case, the CMO of Kopra Nagar Panchayat lodged a report at Panduka police station that a total of 19 cattle have died from 02.02.2025 to 03.2025. The responsibility of catering and security was of Shiv Baba Kopeshwar Nath Sanstha President Manoj Sahu and convenor Haldhanath Goswami. But due to the negligence of both, animals were not given food on time. Due to which the Mashevis died untimely in the last one month. Crime was registered against the accused under the Cruelty Act 1960 and BNS sections. Also, separate restrictive proceedings are being done.
