Faster care scheme has been implemented by the government to ensure the future of the children of poor, helpless, financially disabled parents. Under this scheme, at least 03 children of a poor and disabled family can get benefit. Children’s age is set from 6 to 18 years. For the better upbringing of such children, an assistance of Rs. 2 thousand per month will be given by the government. Children whose parents have died or parents have abandoned their child and are residing with relatives, children whose parents are disabled or suffering from serious illness, child marriage, child labour, Children affected by child trafficking or abuse and children in need of rehabilitation will be given the benefit of this scheme. In order to improve the standard of living of the children, their medical, nutrition, education and development, supplementary assistance or financial assistance will be given by the government to the family concerned to meet the related needs. They can apply in the prescribed form by contacting the office of District Child Protection Unit, Women and Child Development Department, District North Bastar Kanker. After the application, according to the said act and guidelines, on the basis of the home study report and the recommendation of the sponsorship and foster care approval committee, the concerned couple can be given in foster care.
