The 15-day long Rajim Maghi Punni Mela was duly inaugurated by the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Dr. Charandas Mahant, last night by lighting a lamp and offering prayers in front of the statue of Lord Rajivlochan, in Rajim, decorated with the name of Prayagraj, Chhattisgarh. Dr. Mahant also participated in Mahanadi Aarti. On this occasion, Minister of Endowment and In-charge of the district Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Minister of Commercial Taxes and Industries Shri Kawasi Lakhma, MLA Dhanendra Sahu, Rajim MLA Amitesh Shukla, Chairman of Raipur Development Authority, Shri Subhash Dhuppad, including many public representatives and devotees were present in large numbers. . On this occasion, Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Dr. Charandas Mahant congratulated Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Endowment Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu for establishing Rajim Mela as Punni Mela in accordance with the ancient culture. Dr Mahant said that with the mutual love and harmony, unity and brotherhood of the people of the state, together we will build the new Chhattisgarh. He said that Rajim Maghi Punni Mela gives us the message of mutual love and harmony. In this place of pilgrimage, one should accept the Satsang of Sadhus, Saint Mahatmas and the teachings and blessings given by them. He said that in order to make everything better in Chhattisgarh, new Chhattisgarh has to be built together. He expressed condolences to the dead in the accident today and wished speedy recovery to the injured. On this occasion, the Minister for Endowments Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said that the nature of the fair had changed earlier, which has been re-established. He said that as soon as our government came, the first bill was brought for Rajim Maghi Punni Mela and according to the gazetteer it was named as Punni Mela. The nature of the fair should be beautiful, efforts are being made to include the history, culture, and lifestyle of the fair. This is the fourth year of organizing Punni Mela with everyone’s cooperation. The basis of the development of the state is our culture. He said that it is our endeavor to preserve the ancient culture of the state. Industries Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma said that Rajim is a shrine, liquor will be banned for 15 days here. This is the first state in the country where cow dung is being procured. The state government is giving 25 hundred rupees per quintal to the farmers for paddy by including support price and input subsidy. 5 lakh rupees are being given for the development of Devgudi, the worshiper of the tribals of Bastar and 10 thousand rupees for the development of Ghotul. He mentioned various public welfare schemes of the state government during his address. Abhanpur MLA Dhanendra Sahu has thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for restoring the culture of Rajim Maghi Punni Mela. He said that work has been done to restore the ancient form of the fair. He said that Rajim is the great holy land for centuries. Rajim MLA Shri Amitesh Shukla said that thousands of people from around here come to visit this holy land and earn meritorious benefits. This fair is a confluence of faith and devotion. He gave information about the historicity here. He thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel from the stage for banning liquor for 15 days during the fair in Rajim area. Collector Ms. Namrata Gandhi gave information regarding Rajim Maghi Punni Mela. He told that the laser show and Saras Mela are the major attractions here. Chalk arrangements have been made here for the convenience of the devotees. On this occasion, Shri Ravi Kar Saheb of Brahmakumari Prajapati, Narayan Bhai, Hema and Pushpa Behen, Swami Siddheshwar Anand Ji Maharaj, Tribhuvan Bhai, and local public representatives including Collector Ms. Namrata Gandhi, Police Superintendent J.
