On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the citizens have got a big relief. Keeping in view the convenience of common citizens, on the instructions of the state government, a special exemption of 15 days has been given in urban bodies for property tax and return submission. Common citizens will now be able to pay property tax in urban bodies till April 15, 2022. The Ministry of Urban Administration and Development has issued instructions in this regard to all the District Collectors, Divisional Commissioners and Chief Municipal Officer, Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat today. According to the order issued by the government, the last date for submission of property tax and return to the tax payers in urban bodies was fixed till March 31. In view of the maximum collection of property tax payable to the urban bodies and the convenience of the common citizens, a special relaxation of 15 days has been given in the last date for submission of returns like last year. Common citizens can now deposit property tax in urban bodies till April 15, 2022. It has also been said in the order that physical distancing should be compulsorily followed in the event of payment of property tax by citizens after coming to the office. Following physical distancing, door-to-door collection of property tax should be done by the employees of the civic body and citizens should be encouraged to pay online.
