Central Government sanctions Rs 685.29 crore for MNREGA, in response to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel’s letter

In response to the letter Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had written to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi requesting payment of pending wages and also advance payment of wages for next three months under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Central Government has sanctioned Rs 682.29 crores. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has thanked Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi for the sanction. Government of India has sanctioned Rs 404 crore for payment of wages and Rs 281.28 crore for expenditure under Goods and Administrative Fund. Adding the state’s share of Rs 88.13 crore to the fund, total Rs 773.42 crores will be spent on MNREGA works.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. TS Singhdeo told that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had sent letter to Government of India, demanding early sanction of funds for MNREGA works in fiscal year 2020-21. On his initiative, Government of India has sanctioned the funds for wages, goods and administrative expenditure in the current fiscal year. He told that Government of India has sanctioned first installment of Rs 934.70 crores for wage payment in current fiscal year, out of which Rs 404.01 crores has been released to the state.
