Discount advertisement is violated and illegal of Pharmacy Act. In this regard, Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council has issued advisory for all medical shops.
Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council was informed that some medical shop operators put up boards in their premises to attract consumers or patients to buy medicines.
Apart from this, they are also promoting the Medicine Discount Promotion through social media. Advisory clearly states that registered pharmacists are expected to object to such activity. According to chapters 7 and 8 (Chapter 7 and 8) of the Pharmacy Practice Regulation 2015 (Chapter 7 and 8) of the Pharmacy Practice Regulation 2015 (Chapter 7 and 8) of the Pharmacy under the provisions of the Pharmacy Act 1948. In case of violation of the said provision by the registered pharmacist, action can be taken to cancel or cancellation of their registration. At the same time, the medical store will also be punished under the Act.
Violation of Competition Act
Stated by the Pharmacy Council, it has also been observed that some big businessmen advertise such things with their strong economic status. Due to which unhealthy competition is done with small drug store owners. This is a severe violation of Section 4 (Section 4 of Competition Act 2002) of the Competition Act 2002.
This adversely affects the economic development of the state and the country. Competition Commission can also punish such activities. The Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council took a pledge in the recent executive meeting that serious action can be taken for such violations.
