To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Chhattisgarh State Assembly is holding a two-day special session on October 2 and 3.
As per programme schedule, on October 2 at 10.00 AM, Governor Anusuiya Uikey, Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Leader of Opposition, ministers, MPs and MLAs will pay floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Padmashree Bharati Bandhu will present bhajans after the event.
An exhibition of photographs of Mahatma Gandhi will be inaugurated at Central Hall on October 2 at 10.40 AM by Governor and other dignitaries.
Special session will commence from 11.00 AM and continue till 1.30 PM where members will speak on personality and writings of Mahatma Gandhi. Session will continue from 4.00 to 5.00 PM after break. Tikam Joshi will present solo drama at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee auditorium from 6.00 pm.
