Chhattisgarh Transporters celebrated ‘Black Day’
Diwakar Awasthi, secretary of Raipur-Bastar Koraput Transport Association, said that the transporters associated with the union of Transport Nagar have come out to hand over the memorandum to the collector by putting black flags in their vehicles. Our demand is to give exemption in road tax. There is a huge increase in the price of diesel, so the fare should also increase.
Diwakar Awasthi said that we have given time till August 5 to the government. If our demands are not met by then, we will park the truck on the roads and will block the wheel. Even after that if the government ignores our demands, then we will try to commit suicide.
Diwakar Awasthi told that we have no option left now. Transporters say that they had been demanding an increase in the fare from the state government for several days, but till now their demands have been ignored. Now they have given an ultimatum of 1 month, the transporters have expressed hope that after this demonstration, their demands may be fulfilled.
